Purpose:
The Trust annually awards a number of small study and research grants for the purpose of needing to acquire research materials (copies of documentation, photographs and other unpublished materials, and, in exceptional circumstances, printed and published material) essential to their research, in the United Kingdom, during the period from April 1st to March 31st of the subsequent year

Eligibility:
Citizens of India, who are scholars and professionals engaged in the study of India's art and culture.

Availability of material:
Although no formal institutional affiliation is required, candidates must demonstrate that they have established communication with all UK institutions relevant to their application. Applicants must specify the exact nature of the research materials required.

Duration and timing:
These awards may be applied for in conjunction with applications for UK Visiting Fellowships or UK Travel Awards, or may be applied for independently. They must be taken up the financial year immediately subsequent to the award (from April 1st to March 31st of the subsequent year).

Funds allocated:
These awards will normally be of a maximum of £500.

Final Report:
At the conclusion of their award, award holders must submit a report of their work and a financial statement of their expenses, along with copies of their initial estimates. This statement must be certified by a representative of the award holder's employer or host institution or his/her academic supervisor.
