Application Forms

All applicants should complete the appropriate form and submit it no later than 31 January 2010 to the address above.

Testimonials
All applicants should consult the Instructions to Applicants and Referees before completing Part 1 of the Reference form and forwarding one to each of two referees (below), requesting that the testimonial be returned directly to the address above no later than 31 January 2010.

Please note that applications cannot be considered unless at least two testimonials have been received by the Trust by this date.

Proforma for Estimate of Expenses (Small Study and Research Grants (India)

Applicants for a Small Study and Research Grants (India) should also complete and return the Proforma for Estimate of Expenses, which should be countersigned by their employer or academic supervisor.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications in April 2010.

Instructions To Applicants

1. In Section 20 of the Application form, please enter the names and addresses of at least two senior persons acquainted with your academic and / or professional work whom you have asked to write in support of your application. These referees must indicate your academic fitness and general suitability to undertake your proposed course of professional training, study, education or research.

2. Please fill in Part I of the reference form and send it with a copy of this note to each of your referees requesting that the testimonial must be returned directly to either The Secretary, Nehru Trust for the Indian Collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum, or to The Executive Trustee, NTICVA, Asian Department, Victoria & Albert Museum, London SW7 2RL ( India Travel Awards Only) to reach him no later than 31 January 2010.

Your application will not be considered unless at least two testimonials from your nominated referees have been received by The Secretary, 'Nehru Trust for the Indian Collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum by 31 January 2010.

Instructions To Referees

1. This applicant wishes to be considered for an award from the Trust and has requested you to complete Part II of the enclosed reference form and return it directly to:

to reach him no later than 31 January. The application will not be considered unless reference has been received by the closing date.

2. Since the awards are highly competitive, it would be most helpful if you could give your frank opinion about the applicants academic qualifications and proposal for study, training or research. It would be especially helpful if you could assess the viability and importance of the proposed training, study or research programme and the applicants particular qualifications for undertaking it. It is not helpful to have general character references since the Trust is concerned to identifY applicants of outstanding merit and research or professional potential, judged by the highest international standards.
